Companies use only two thirds of ERP system functionality

Most organisations use only 64 percent of their enterprise systems core functions, according to a recent Accenture survey.

"About half said they don't need all the capabilities while a fifth explained that they didn't make use of all the functionality due to lack of time to learn how to apply them," said Accenture. [via InfoWorld]

Wow, that is really not surprising, but certainly eye opening. Most companies spend millions on implementing ERP and realize that their ROI is not nearly where it needs to be, due to many factors, but mostly the human element. They implemented for the wrong reasons, did not get the necessary consultants, or just went about the process all wrong. It's about being smart with '"information," and utilizing an ERP system as a tool, and not a cure.
